Celebrates the 30th Anniversary of Victory in the Patriotic War

The 30th anniversary of Victory in the Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia (1992-1993) is being commemorated with a special banknote. The banknote has a denomination of 25 Apsars, equivalent to approximately US$3.85 or €3.45. Its design features green and yellow colors and has dimensions of 150 x 65 mm.

On the front of the banknote, you will find the coat of arms, a sailing ship, a traditional ornament serving as a registration device, a hawk in flight, stars, and the head of a hawk in profile. The back of the banknote showcases two standing soldiers holding swords and a rifle, along with stars, a traditional ornament as a registration device, and a QR code.

There is no security thread present on this banknote. It was printed by Gosnak, and the watermark features a basket weave pattern. The banknote bears the date of 2023 and carries the prefix “AA.” It was introduced into circulation on May 22, 2023. The signature of Beslan Baratelia is also included on the banknote.

Although 15,000 banknotes were printed, they were not put into circulation. These banknotes serve as a commemorative item to honor the 30th anniversary of the victory in the Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia (1992-1993).

Its front design features an intricate ornament with the denomination in gold-to-jade Optically Variable Ink (OVI), alongside a portrait of the esteemed poet Jusup Balasagyn. Behind him, majestic mountains grace the backdrop, with a diamond pattern serving as a registration device. On the reverse side, the diamond pattern is repeated, accompanied by the Takhti Sulaiman, an ancient architectural monument, set against the iconic Sulaiman Mountain.

To bolster its security, the banknote incorporates a RAPID HD Detect windowed security thread. Additionally, a watermark featuring Jusup Balasagyn alongside an electrotype 1000 adds another layer of security.

Iran new 2,000,000 rials cheque

The cheque in question P-154C; B-291.5 is a 2,000,000 rials denomination (US$47.50; €40.84). It features a color scheme of light blue and green and measures 160 x 75 mm. The front side displays an image of the Karoun 3 dam, while the back side has both English and Farsi text, calligraphic text of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and an Islamic design of a flower.

The cheque comes with several security features, including a windowed security thread with a demetalized 2000000, as well as a solid security thread with printed Farsi script. The cheque is printed by TAKAB and has a watermark of Ferdowsi (Hakīm Abu’l-Qasim Firdawsī Tūsī) and an electrotype denomination. Its introduction took place in 2023, and it bears the signature of Mazaheri.

Note: The proposed launch of a 2,000,000-rial cheque in October 2008 was called off when Mahmoud Bahmani assumed the role of governor of the bank that same year, succeeding Tahmasb Mazaheri who was removed by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in September. Nevertheless, the aforementioned cheque was ultimately put into circulation in 2023.

50-taka notes commemorate the inauguration of the country’s first Metrorail

The 50 Taka (US$0.59 or €0.51) banknote, P-72 and B-364 measures 130 x 60 mm and comes in a stunning green and pink color combination.

The front of the banknote features the portrait of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Hasina Wajed, alongside an image of the Dhaka Metro Rail. The back of the note showcases the Dhaka Metro Rail, further highlighting its significance in the country’s infrastructure.

To ensure its authenticity, the banknote has a 2-mm wide windowed security thread with demetalized Bengali text. The banknote is printed by the Security Printing Corporation Limited (Bangladesh) – SPCBL, adding to its credibility and authenticity.

The watermark of the banknote features Sheikh Hasina on a pixelated background and electrotype bank logo and 50. This watermark further helps to distinguish the banknote from counterfeit currency.

“Golden Jubilee of the Constitution and the Supreme Court of the PDR of Bangladesh”

In 2022, the People’s Republic of Bangladesh celebrated the Commemoration of the Golden Jubilee of the Constitution and the Supreme Court. To mark this historic occasion, a special edition banknote was issued in the denomination of 50 Taka (US$0.59; €0.51), with P-71; B-363.

The banknote is predominantly pink and purple in color, with dimensions of 130 x 60 mm. The front side of the note features the portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangladesh and the first President of the country, along with the National Assembly building in Dacca. The back side of the note showcases the iconic Supreme Court building in Dacca.

The 100,000 Kip banknote (equivalent to US$10.96 or €9.42) is identified as P-42A and B-524. It has a green and pink color scheme and measures 152 x 68 mm. The front of the note features a portrait of Kaysone Phomvihane and the Pha That Luang pagoda located in Vientiane.

The back of the note showcases Vieng Xai, the birthplace of the Democratic People’s Republic Revolution, located in Huaphanh province. The banknote has a holographic security thread printed with a demetalized Lao denomination to ensure security. The note was printed by the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Goznak” located in Russia. Syria new 50 pounds banknote

The 50 Syrian Pound (US$0.10; €0.08) banknote, designated as P-112b and B-636, is a legal tender issued by the Central Bank of Syria. This particular note has been designed with advanced security features to deter counterfeiting attempts.

The front of the banknote features an intricate design of the Ugarit alphabet on ancient cuneiform clay tables from Ebla. The image is in high resolution and features microprinting to prevent replication.
