Celebrates the 30th Anniversary of Victory in the Patriotic War

The 30th anniversary of Victory in the Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia (1992-1993) is being commemorated with a special banknote. The banknote has a denomination of 25 Apsars, equivalent to approximately US$3.85 or €3.45. Its design features green and yellow colors and has dimensions of 150 x 65 mm.

On the front of the banknote, you will find the coat of arms, a sailing ship, a traditional ornament serving as a registration device, a hawk in flight, stars, and the head of a hawk in profile. The back of the banknote showcases two standing soldiers holding swords and a rifle, along with stars, a traditional ornament as a registration device, and a QR code.

There is no security thread present on this banknote. It was printed by Gosnak, and the watermark features a basket weave pattern. The banknote bears the date of 2023 and carries the prefix “AA.” It was introduced into circulation on May 22, 2023. The signature of Beslan Baratelia is also included on the banknote.

Although 15,000 banknotes were printed, they were not put into circulation. These banknotes serve as a commemorative item to honor the 30th anniversary of the victory in the Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia (1992-1993).
