Bangladesh new 50 taka banknote

“Golden Jubilee of the Constitution and the Supreme Court of the PDR of Bangladesh”

In 2022, the People’s Republic of Bangladesh celebrated the Commemoration of the Golden Jubilee of the Constitution and the Supreme Court. To mark this historic occasion, a special edition banknote was issued in the denomination of 50 Taka (US$0.59; €0.51), with P-71; B-363.

The banknote is predominantly pink and purple in color, with dimensions of 130 x 60 mm. The front side of the note features the portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangladesh and the first President of the country, along with the National Assembly building in Dacca. The back side of the note showcases the iconic Supreme Court building in Dacca.

The security features of the note include a 2-mm wide windowed security thread with a demetalized bank logo and the numeral 50. The banknote was printed by the Security Printing Corporation Limited (SPCBL) in Bangladesh. The watermark on the note features the image of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on a pixelated background, along with an electrotype bank logo and the numeral 50.

The banknote was introduced on December 19, 2022, as part of the commemoration celebrations. The note is signed by Talukder, adding to its authenticity and value as a special edition banknote. The commemorative banknote serves as a reminder of the rich history and cultural significance of Bangladesh and its commitment to upholding its Constitution and the rule of law through its Supreme Court.
