“500th Anniversary of the Victory of Mactan”

The 5000 Piso P-229; B-1095 note is a stunning brown-colored currency, measuring 216 x 133 mm. On the front of the note, a commemorative logo featuring a young Lapulapu, an image of the battle of Mactan, the QCP logo, and the Karaoka, the large outrigger warships used by native Filipinos are depicted. These images pay homage to the rich history and culture of the Philippines.

On the back of the note, the Philippine eagle, or the Manaol, is featured. The eagle is a symbol of clear vision, freedom, and strength, embodying the ancient Visayan belief that all living creatures originated from an eagle.

The 5000 Piso note comes equipped with an array of security features, including microprints, fluorescent, magnetic, and optically variable inks, see-through images, intaglio prints, and a latent image with a concealed numerical value. These features are designed to protect against counterfeiting and ensure the authenticity of the note.

The Security Plant Complex of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (Philippines) – SPCP, printed the note. The date of issuance is 2021, and it bears the signatures of Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Benjamin E. Diokno.
