Russia new 5000 rubles banknote

This banknote P-279A; B-839 has a denomination of 5,000 Rubles, which is approximately equivalent to US$63.98 or €55.01. It features a color scheme of red and orange and measures 157 x 69 mm in size.

The front of the banknote presents a captivating design. It prominently displays a bank seal, adding a touch of authenticity. The central focus is on an unknown city skyline, which creates a sense of urban grandeur. Additionally, the Europe-Asia stele in Ekaterinburg is depicted, symbolizing the geographical significance of this location. The design includes a stylized skyline and a circle in golden-crimson to golden-green Optically Variable Ink (OVI), enhancing its visual appeal. Another unidentified building and a QR code are also part of the front design.

The reverse side of the banknote is equally rich in symbolism. It features a steel foundry, representing the industrial heritage of the region. The Tale of the Urals statue in Chelyabinsk is also depicted, signifying the cultural and historical aspects of the area. The design includes images of pine trees, which are a significant element of the natural landscape. A map of the Urals Federal District is included to emphasize the geographical context. Furthermore, the banknote showcases oil pump jacks and a tower, highlighting the importance of the oil industry in the region.

To enhance security and prevent counterfeiting, the banknote incorporates a 5.5-mm wide winged windowed holographic security thread with demetalized 5000 CBRF. The watermark on the banknote features buildings and an electrotype 5,000, contributing to its security features and authenticity.

This 5,000 Rubles banknote is printed by the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Goznak” in Russia (FGU), renowned for its role in producing secure documents and currency. The banknote was issued in 2023 with the prefix “PP.” It entered into circulation on October 16, 2023.
