The 1,000 Colones banknote, P-280 and B-564, holds a value of US$1.67 or €1.44. It boasts a captivating red hue and exhibits dimensions of 125 x 67 mm. Crafted from durable GUARDIAN™ polymer, this banknote harmoniously blends innovation and practicality.

The obverse side of the banknote prominently features Braulio Carillo Colina, a notable figure in Costa Rican history, alongside a map that outlines the contours of Costa Rica. This depiction encapsulates the nation’s geographical and cultural significance.

Turning the note reveals a captivating panorama: the Guanacaste tree, a white-tailed deer, and the Costa Rica Pitahaya cactus flower. The upper left corner is adorned with ‘BOSQUE SECO,’ underscoring the importance of the dry forest ecosystem.

A solid security thread further bolsters the banknote’s security, upholding its integrity and deterring counterfeiting. Notably, this banknote does not feature a watermark, making use of other innovative security measures.

The date “20 de Setiembre de 2019” marks an important moment in time, commemorating an event or milestone. This banknote belongs to the “C” series, and its introduction into circulation occurred on October 15th, 2021, adding a fresh addition to the nation’s currency landscape.

The signatures of Rodrigo José Juan Cubero Brealey and Eduardo Prado Zúñiga grace the banknote, lending an air of authority and authenticity to the note’s significance as a trusted instrument of monetary exchange.

Poland 20-zlotych banknote

“Lech Kaczyński” Commemorative Issue

This P-195 and BNP825 is a resplendent in an engaging blend of orange and blue hues, this note boasts dimensions of 150 x 77 mm. Its construction is fortified by the utilization of GUARDIAN® polymer material, a choice that ensures both resilience and durability.

The obverse side of the banknote showcases a prominent portrayal of Lech Kaczyński, adorned by the resolute proclamation “Warto być Polakiem” (It’s worth being a Pole). Additionally, the illustrious President’s Palace, previously recognized as the Koniecpolski Palace, stands center stage. This historic structure is complemented by the presence of an equestrian statue of Prince Józef Poniatowski, epitomizing the nation’s cultural and historical identity.

Flipping the note exposes an equally captivating panorama. The “Lenin” Shipyard in Gdańsk/Danzig, accompanied by a rally of shipyard workers in protest, captures the fervor of collective action. The emblem of the Solidarność Union serves as a symbol of unity and strength. A poignant representation of hands forming the “Victory” sign reflects the collective aspirations of the people. A button bearing an eagle, reminiscent of a Polish officer’s uniform piece found in Katyn, echoes the nation’s history. The gate fragment from the Polish military cemetery in Katyn, surrounded by trees and stones, pays homage to the fallen. The Warsaw Rising Museum, featuring the “Monter” SPARK Live bell, stands as a testament to resilience and commemoration.

Security is enhanced by a windowed security thread with demetalized markings, a feature designed to deter counterfeiting. The esteemed Polska Wytwórnia Papierów Wartościowych S.A. (PWPW) undertook the responsibility of printing this banknote, aligning with their reputation for precision and security.

A watermark featuring an eagle and an electrotype 20 adds another layer of authenticity and security. The date, meticulously recorded as April 10th, 2021, signifies an important milestone. Notably, the prefix “LK” accompanies the serial number, and the note officially entered circulation on November 9th, 2021.

A limited quantity of 80,000 notes were produced, each a testament to the nation’s historical and contemporary narrative. The signatures of Adam Glapiński and Barbara Jaroszek serve as a personal endorsement of the banknote’s legitimacy and significance.

Mexico new 50 pesos banknote

   

Introducing the 50 Pesos polymer banknote P-133; B-714, a blend of worth and cultural heritage, equivalent to US$2.24 or €1.92. Measuring 65 x 125 mm, this striking note is imbued with shades of regal purple, exuding an air of dignity. Crafted from the robust GUARDIAN™ polymer, it embodies modernity and strength.

The front unfolds a tapestry of history – the founding of Tenochtitlan, present-day Mexico City, comes to life. A glimpse of the Grand Tenochtitlan, a Diego Rivera mural, adds an artistic touch. The eagle with a cactus, depicting the reverse side of the “Teocalli de la Guerra Sagrada,” symbolizes the nation’s roots.

Flipping the note reveals an intricate ecosystem of rivers and lakes, where the enigmatic Ajolote, also known as Axolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum), thrives in the Xochimilco lake in Mexico City. A nod to nature’s wonders and the nation’s biodiversity.

Security features are robust – an integrated magnetic thread bears the denomination, integrated with a pre-Hispanic inspired design. A Banco de México (BdM) creation, this note carries the weight of the nation’s central bank’s legacy.

The watermark, a large, complex transparent window, showcases G-SWITCH™ and METALIX™ inks. The G-SWITCH feature transforms from blue to gold upon movement, while the METALIX ink shimmers in copper hues.

Dated 31 MAR. 2021, marked with series AA, and introduced on 1st November 2021, this 50 Pesos polymer banknote encapsulates Mexico’s historical and natural splendor. It stands as a testament to the nation’s past and present, where culture, nature, and security intertwine.

Azerbaijan new 500 manat banknote

“First Anniversary of Victory in the 44-Day Patriotic War”

 

Introducing the 500 Manat banknote P-45; B-415, a tribute to value and national pride, equivalent to US$293.69 or €252.49. This note, in a vibrant green hue, stands tall at 165 x 70 mm, commanding attention and reverence.

The front is a celebration of the land – tulips and the Kharibulbul (Ophrys caucasica) flower grace the scene, paying homage to nature’s beauty. Soldiers, holding the flag high, symbolize unity and strength. Ilham Aliyev’s rallying cry “QARABAĞ AZƏRBAYCANDIR!” (Karabakh is Azerbaijan!) resounds, commemorating 8th November 2020. An anniversary logo and the Khudafar stone bridge, historic and iconic, add depth to the narrative.

Flipping the note reveals the heart of Azerbaijan – the Askeran fortress stands as a testament to history and resilience. The mausoleum of poet Molla Panah Vagif, known as The Learned One, in Shusha, is a tribute to culture and literature. The map of Azerbaijan completes the image, underscoring the nation’s identity.

A Gold-to-green windowed security thread, demetalized with AMB 500, stands guard against counterfeits. The note is crafted by Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) in Germany, a mark of quality.

Watermarks tell their own story – the coat of arms and an electrotype 500 are a seal of authenticity. Dated 2021 and marked with the prefix A, this banknote was introduced on 4th November 2021.
